On October 18, 2019, Shenzhen Technology University issued a document establishing the Intellectual Property Information Service Center, which is affiliated with the Shenzhen Technical University Library. The center is dedicated to providing intellectual property information and intelligence analysis services to the university, government, and enterprises, as well as cultivating talent in the field of intellectual property information.

1.Basic services:Document retrieval, pre-application patent searches, and issuance of search certificates. Conducting searches for novelty of patents, obtaining patent literature and non-patent literature that may affect the novelty and creativity of technical solutions, and searching for existing technologies and related background technical documents similar or relevant to the invention or creation. Conducting worldwide patent searches for specific institutions or technologies based on the client's requirements, issuing search reports, and providing relevant full-text patents if needed.

2.Information literacy education services:General education courses on information literacy, lectures on intellectual property rights, personalized training sessions by appointment, and intellectual property competitions. These initiatives primarily cover commonly used patent search and analysis techniques, exploring valuable information embedded within patents to provide references for research projects.

3.Comprehensive Services:Embedded decision support, patent analysis and evaluation, patent navigation alerts, and patent competitiveness analysis. Conducting comprehensive analysis of patent situations for various departments, research institutes, or subject/ project groups, collaborating with relevant university departments to implement services and decisions related to patent achievement transformation, and integrating industry, academia, and research.

4.Expanding social services to contribute to local economic development. Engaging in knowledge exchange on intellectual property information services with relevant academic institutions, participating in research and development activities of enterprises, and providing patent intelligence services.
