We strive to offer our readers a serene reading environment, a wealth of literary resources, and exceptional knowledge services, catering to the diverse needs of our patrons. Our ambition is to become a cultural hub, a teaching and research service center, and an information resource exchange center on campus. We are constantly evolving to advance SZTU’s mission in research, education, and public service. Our strategic direction is to accelerate, engage, and serve in establishing SZTU as an international, high-level, and exemplary university of research and technology, embodying Chinese characteristics with a global outlook.

Collections

Our resources encompass a wide array of disciplines, ensuring that the diverse needs of our students and faculty are fully met. We continuously update and expand our collection to reflect the latest academic trends and developments.

Physical Collections

Our print collection is a treasure trove of knowledge, carefully curated to cover a broad spectrum of subjects and disciplines. Boasting over 631,300 volumes, our physical resources span the development of various disciplines in three languages: Chinese, English, and German. We also house 918 newspapers and periodicals,and 6,900 volumes of bound paper periodicals.

Electronic Resources

In this digital era, our library has made remarkable progress in providing access to an extensive range of electronic resources. We offer 153 databases, 1,664,500 electronic books, 2,154,300 electronic periodicals, 15,459,900 theses,284,000 hours streaming mediare sources,404,600 sets of test questions, and 2,641,200 digital image.

Our spacious library, covering a construction area of 75,000 square meters, boasts over 5,600 seats and 62 discussion rooms. We offer a variety of spaces catering to different needs, from cozy individual study carrels to collaborative group study rooms.

We provide our readers with multi-level services, including book borrowing, literature search, resource recommendation, reader training, space reservation, movie screenings, and retrieval services. Every semester, we host a variety of online and offline reading promotion activities, such as training lectures, knowledge contests, and book recommendations. Our library is equipped with cutting-edge network and IT infrastructure, offering wireless network coverage and 206 computers.
